Workplace English guide

How to practice English speaking for work.

The most transferable practice resembles the conversation you need to have. Start with one outcome and one difficult moment instead of trying to improve all of your English at once.

A 20-minute practice loop

  • Choose a real upcoming conversation and remove confidential details.
  • Write three facts and the outcome you need—not a full script.
  • Speak once without stopping.
  • Review one content issue and one delivery issue.
  • Retry the same moment, then save the most useful phrase.

What to measure

  • Could a listener identify the main point?
  • Did evidence support the claim?
  • Was the requested action explicit?
  • Could you respond when the wording changed?

A useful weekly mix

Combine one recurring situation, such as a project update, with one high-stakes situation, such as an interview or client escalation. Repetition builds fluency; variation tests whether the structure transfers.
